When customers ask about spring seeding and we explain we don’t offer it due to low success rates, the common response is questioning what to do if they want improvement before summer. The answer: start our 6-step fertilizer and weed control program immediately in spring. Proper fertilization and weed control through spring and summer builds soil nutrients, eliminates weed competition, thickens existing grass through better health, and prepares ideal conditions for overseeding the following August-September. This approach delivers spring and summer improvement from the fertilizer program, then dramatic transformation from fall overseeding when timing is optimal for success.

call us today to schedule your service
After completing your aeration service, we provide clear confirmation that work has been completed even if you weren’t home. We place a visible sign at the end of your driveway or in a prominent location showing service completion. We leave a detailed door hanger with specific information about service performed, date and time of completion, aftercare instructions specific to your service (critical for overseeding), and contact information for questions. This documentation ensures you’re informed about service details and have the reference information needed for proper aftercare.
We apply 5 pounds of grass seed per 1,000 square feet, which is a thick, aggressive application rate. For comparison, many competitors apply 2-3 pounds per thousand, and DIY homeowners often apply 1-2 pounds thinking they’re saving money on seed. The application rate directly impacts results: higher rates create denser germination, fill thin areas more completely, establish thick turf faster, and provide margin for some seed loss to birds, erosion, or germination failure. Our 5 pound rate is what professional sports fields and golf courses use when they need guaranteed thick results. We don’t cut corners on seed application because density is the entire point of overseeding.

No, we have a minimum charge that covers up to 5,000 sq ft. Here's why we don't do small patches:
NO! Do not skip fertilizer. The fertilizer is very beneficial for new seed. Here's what happens:
We use a premium blend of 3 Turf Type Tall Fescue cultivars specifically selected for the Eastern Nebraska region. This seed blend includes varieties with excellent NTEP (National Turfgrass Evaluation Program) testing results, meaning they've proven superior performance in:
We apply 5 lbs per 1,000 sq ft as a standard rate. In very thin or completely bare areas, we apply even higher rates. This is a thick application designed to create a dense, lush lawn.
No, if you're on our 6-step fertilizer program, your soil will have plenty of nutrients for the seed. Adding starter fertilizer would create over-fertilization, which can actually harm new seedlings. Our program provides everything your seed needs to thrive.
This is THE critical factor for success. Follow this schedule exactly:
Critical: This is a guide. The soil surface MUST stay damp for seed to survive. New grass has no deep roots to access lower soil moisture—think of it like a newborn baby that needs frequent care.
We will NOT aerate or aerate and seed if sprinklers are not marked. We don't want the liability of damaged sprinklers. You must:
Minimal aftercare needed:
For aeration only: Lawn will look slightly messy for 1-2 weeks due to soil plugs on surface, but no damage. Plugs break down quickly.
For aeration & seeding: Very thin or bare areas may be completely torn up by the double-pass aeration—this is normal and beneficial. It creates maximum soil disruption for seed-to-soil contact. The lawn will look rough for 2-3 weeks, then new grass fills in beautifully.
