Bennington is a thriving community where homeowners are investing heavily in quality landscaping and lawn care. Our program protects these investments with five monthly applications from May through September. This targets the critical period when heat and humidity create perfect conditions for diseases like brown patch and powdery mildew. Bennington’s location often leads to weather patterns where fungus becomes inevitable without professional help. When temperature and humidity combined hit 140 or more and night lows stay above 65°F, the risk is constant. This program is specifically designed to keep your yard beautiful and healthy during the most difficult parts of the Nebraska summer when disease pressure is at its highest. Common lawn diseases we treat:
Bennington homeowners play a crucial role in minimizing disease through proper irrigation and mowing. You should only water in the early morning between 4 AM and 8 AM and never at night. Morning dew already keeps grass wet, and evening watering extends this to 12 hours of moisture. This gives spores ample time to germinate and infect your grass blades. You should also maintain a mowing height of 3.5 to 4 inches all summer long. Taller grass develops deeper roots and handles heat stress much better. Since many Bennington lawns use Kentucky Bluegrass, annual fungicide treatment is typically necessary as this variety is very susceptible to summer diseases.
Reactive treatment does not work for lawn diseases because by the time fungus is visible, the damage is already permanent. These diseases spread incredibly fast; a small brown patch can expand to several square feet in just a few days under ideal conditions. The grass in these dead areas will not recover and must be reseeded, which is much more expensive than prevention. Even if we kill the active fungus, the same weather that caused the outbreak will cause it to return within days. This is why prevention is the only effective approach. It keeps your lawn consistently green and saves you from the frustration of fixing dead spots every autumn.

We apply all of our treatments as liquid sprays using professional equipment for uniform coverage. Liquid products are much better than store-bought granules because the plants can absorb them much faster. We use a carefully calculated mix of products that we rotate throughout the season to prevent resistance development. Mix #1 is used in May, July, and September, while Mix #2 is used in June and August. This ensures that fungal pathogens cannot adapt to the medicine. After each application, you must water your lawn within 24 hours with about 0.25 to 0.5 inches of water. This moves the medicine into the soil so the roots can absorb it and protect the whole plant.

Yes. Like all products we use, once the application is dry, it is safe for everyone—pets, children, and adults. Drying typically takes about 1 hour but may take longer on cool, cloudy days.
Safety protocol: Keep people and pets off the lawn until dry (usually 1 hour). After that, normal use can resume.
It depends on your lawn's history and grass type:
YES, you should do the program if:
NO, you probably don't need the program if:
HOWEVER: If you notice unusual brown, yellow, or dead spots during summer, contact us immediately so we can diagnose the issue. Early detection is critical.
No. This is why:
Bottom line: Reactive single treatments don't work for lawn fungus. The full preventative program is necessary for control.
It depends on your grass type:
Long-term solution: Overseeding with newer, disease-resistant grass cultivars can reduce (but not eliminate) the need for fungicide over time.
We use professional-grade fungicides that combine both curative and preventative active ingredients. We rotate between two different chemical mixes (Mix #1 and Mix #2) to prevent resistance development.
This is an all-liquid product that we spray onto the lawn. Liquid products:
This is why we exclusively use liquid fungicides—they're simply more effective
Great question. There are several reasons:
Value perspective: While more expensive than fertilizer, fungicide is cheaper than reseeding large dead areas from disease damage. Dead grass from fungus won't recover—it must be reseeded. Prevention costs less than repair.
