Monthly Service
Gretna’s tremendous growth has brought many new families seeking pest-free homes and comfortable outdoor living spaces. Our professional pest control services deliver both with monthly barrier treatments from April through October that prevent insects from invading homes and eliminate outdoor pests. Our service targets:
We require full property access to complete effective barrier treatment. If gates are locked or areas are inaccessible, we’ll reschedule the entire service rather than treating only accessible areas. Partial treatments create gaps in the barrier that insects can exploit, undermining effectiveness and requiring return trips. Complete access ensures complete protection. We prefer Thursday reschedules but can accommodate any day when we have a technician in your area. Please ensure gates are unlocked and we have access to all treatment areas on service day.
Starting service in April—before pest populations peak—provides multiple advantages over waiting until summer. You establish the barrier before insects really ramp up, experiencing maximum prevention. The temporary flush-out effect after the first treatment occurs in cooler weather when you’re using outdoor spaces less, not during peak outdoor living season. You build continuous protection rather than reacting to existing problems. You get full seven-month coverage rather than partial season protection. Starting early means the barrier is working when insect pressure begins, not catching up to established populations.

Why Treatment Matters
Establish and maintain a barrier to prevent pests from entering your home or infesting your propery.

Yard Guard dramatically reduces mosquito populations in your outdoor living spaces by treating mosquito harborage areas—the shrubs, tall grass, and shaded zones where mosquitoes rest during the day between feeding times. While mosquitoes are mobile and can fly in from surrounding areas, reducing resting populations in your yard makes outdoor activities like dining on patios, pool use, and yard play far more comfortable. Most Yard Guard customers report being able to enjoy outdoor spaces throughout summer without constant mosquito harassment.
At Yard Boss, we understand that you may have questions about our services, processes, and how we can help you achieve the perfect lawn. Whether you’re curious about our lawn care techniques, service areas, or the benefits of professional lawn maintenance, you’ll find the information you need right here. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out to our friendly team!
This varies by pest and situation:
Key point: This is preventative, not instant. The barrier builds protection over the first few months and maintains it thereafter.
Yes, in two ways:
Limitation: If you have active large nests in trees or structures, those may require specialized removal. Our monthly service prevents and controls typical wasp issues but isn't a replacement for professional nest removal when needed.
YES! In fact, we highly recommend this for pet owners:
Yard Guard is especially recommended for pet owners because outdoor flea/tick control dramatically reduces what pets bring inside and the pest exposure they experience.
You cannot skip treatments without losing control. Here's what happens:
This is preventative, not curative. Like any preventative measure (taking vitamins, changing oil, brushing teeth), skipping doses means the protection fails and you have to restart.
No! You do not need to be home:
Wait until spray is completely dry:
Safe after dry: Once dry, normal use is safe for people and pets
A few scenarios:
You could, but here's why we don't recommend it:
Better approach: Full-season service prevents all pests including mosquitoes, with best results when barrier is continuous
We take precautions to protect pollinators:
Bottom line: When applied properly (avoiding flowers, not spraying bees directly), our service has minimal impact on beneficial pollinators.
Once dry, rain won't wash it away:
