Protecting Elkhorn's Landscape Trees and Shrubs
Elkhorn’s established and new neighborhoods feature valuable shade trees and evergreens that face dual threats from Japanese Beetles and Bagworms. Our professional service protects both tree types with two sprays in June and July, timed precisely for when both pests are vulnerable. Beetles arrive in early June to attack Lindens and Roses, while Bagworms hatch on Junipers and Spruce. The efficiency of this service is that two different insects attacking different tree types respond to the same professional treatment. This ensures your landscape stays healthy and beautiful during the peak summer months when these pests are most active. What we do:
Linden Trees
Buckthorn Shrubs
Roses
Crabapple Trees
Pear Trees
Elkhorn Protection Program Details

We use specialized equipment that can spray 30-60 feet into tree canopies, providing coverage that consumer tools cannot achieve. The first application in June catches early pests to stop infestations before they build up. The second spray in July provides continued protection as the first treatment wears off after 3-4 weeks. The treatment kills pests on contact and when they feed on treated leaves or needles. This two-step program is necessary to cover the entire peak feeding window. We only apply sprays on calm days to ensure safety and maximum effectiveness on the target foliage.
Why Elkhorn Properties Face Japanese Beetles
Elkhorn homeowners should never use Japanese Beetle traps, as research proves they attract more beetles into your yard than they capture. Lawn grub control protects your grass but does not stop adult beetles from flying in from up to 5 miles away. Our sprays kill the pests on your trees without attracting more from the neighborhood. For the best results, pair this pest protection with deep root fertilization. Proper nutrition helps trees recover from damage, maintain their vigor, and resist stress throughout the growing season, which is especially important for high-value specimen trees.

Bagworms: Greater Threat to Elkhorn Evergreens

Bagworms are a major threat to Elkhorn evergreens because their damage is permanent and irreversible. Once a Juniper or Spruce branch loses its needles, it stays bare forever and will never recover. Severe infestations can kill young landscape plantings in a single season or permanently ruin the appearance of mature specimens. While Japanese Beetles cause temporary stress by eating leaves, deciduous trees can regrow foliage every year. Because each bag holds up to 1,000 eggs, missing just one bag during cleanup ensures an explosion in the pest population the following spring.
