Protecting Millard's Diverse Landscape Trees
Millard’s diverse neighborhoods feature shade trees and evergreens that are heavily targeted by Japanese Beetles and Bagworms every summer. Our professional service uses two monthly sprays in June and July to provide comprehensive protection. Beetles arrive in early June to attack Lindens and Crabapples, while Bagworms hatch on Junipers and Spruce. This program offers a unique advantage because both pests are active at the same time and respond to the same treatment. This allows one service to protect your entire landscape during the critical window when these insects are most active and capable of causing permanent damage. What we do:
Linden Trees
Buckthorn Shrubs
Roses
Crabapple Trees

Millard Protection Program Schedule

We use specialized professional equipment that can spray 30-60 feet into tree canopies, ensuring total coverage for your yard. The first application in June catches early pests and stops infestations before they build up. The second spray in July maintains protection as the first treatment naturally wears off. The insecticide kills pests through both contact and ingestion. This two-step program provides continuous coverage throughout the entire peak feeding season. We only apply treatments on calm days with wind gusts under 10 MPH to ensure safety and effectiveness for your landscape.
Japanese Beetle Challenges in Millard
Bagworms pose an even more serious threat than Japanese Beetles because damage to conifer trees is permanent. Once a branch is stripped of its needles, it remains bare forever and will never recover. Severe infestations can kill young landscape plantings or permanently disfigure mature specimens. Deciduous trees can regrow leaves every spring, making beetle damage temporary. Each bagworm bag contains 500-1,000 eggs, so missing even one bag during hand-picking means next year's infestation will be much worse. Professional spray treatment is the only practical way to avoid these lasting and irreversible landscape losses.

Bagworm Threat to Millard Evergreens

Millard homeowners should avoid Japanese Beetle traps because research proves they attract more beetles to your property than they catch. Even with lawn grub control, adult beetles will fly in from parks or agricultural fields at the city's western edges. Lawn grub control protects the grass but does not stop these flying adults from attacking your trees. We recommend pairing pest prevention with deep root fertilization. Proper nutrition helps trees recover from damage, maintain their vigor, and resist environmental stress, ensuring your Millard landscape stays healthy and green.
